The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has announced the new Consolidated Skilled Occupation List (CSOL) with 7 changes which will be effective from 1 July 2013.
Last year, as part of the Employer Nominated Scheme and the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme review process, the Government announced the implementation of a single list of occupations, as known as the CSOL, to provide a simpler and more consistent approach to sponsorship across the skill stream of visas without restricting the flexibility of programs such as the Labour Agreement and Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme categories.
The updated SOL for 2013 comprises 649 occupations in Australia, with the 6 following
New occupations added:
Procurement Manager (ANZSCO 133612)
Nutritionist (ANZSCO 251112)
Intellectual Property Lawyer (ANZSCO 271214)
Archaeologist (ANZSCO 272414)
Hydrographer (ANZSCO 311415)
Kennel Hand (ANZSCO 361115)
Anatomist or Physiologist (ANZSCO 234512)
As stated in the announcement, applicants who are nominated by a State or Territory Government, a direct entry stream Employer Nomination Scheme visa, a Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457) or a Training and Research Visa (Subclass 402) are required to nominate an occupation from the CSOL.
