Student Visa Process
To get clarity about visa and admission process for NZ, you can attend a counselling session at any of the nearby CECA branches. Counselling sessions will help you find out your options like the study destination, courses available and recommended institutions.
To start the admission and visa process, register with CECA. Our consultants will help you navigate through the various processes, and ensure a comfortable overseas studying experience. And the best thing is, all our services are free of charge!
Once you have decided about the course and institute, we will help you apply for the admission at the institution of your choice.
At the time of applying for the admission, you are required to submit various documents, like previous education certificates and English proficiency certificate. CECA provide you with a checklist for the documents you need to provide while applying for your visa (see step 7 for more information).
In addition to this, when you submit your application through us, we will help you track the progress of your application and send automatic notifications to keep you updated about the status of your application.
After you receive an offer letter from the institution of your choice, you need to undergo a medical examination at one of the doctors approved by the New Zealand Government. Check out the list of approved panel doctors here:
Along with the medical examination, you also need to arrange for your Police Clearance Certificate.
When you lodge your visa application, you need to produce various documents outlined in the given checklist.
As for your finances, we would strongly recommend that you take advantage of the Funds Transfer Scheme (FTS) offered by the ANZ bank. There are many benefits of using the FTS like:
- FTS lets the parents have some control over the amount of money that you can access while in New Zealand;
- It also ensures that you can have easy access to enough money to meet the cost of living in New Zealand.
- FTS is much easier than the current alternatives available, where you need to produce different kinds of documentation and/or you have to avail a bank loan.
- Applications submitted under this scheme are not subjected to in-depth fund assessments. Therefore, the processing period reduces considerably.
Just like in the case of the admission application, our consultants will keep you updated on the progress of your visa application by tracking your application and keeping in touch with the visa office on your behalf.
After lodging your visa applications, and once we are notified about receiving “Approval in Principal” of your visa from the New Zealand government, you need to pay first-year tuition fees.
You can either choose Telegraphic Transfer (TT) or Direct Debit (DD). Our consultants will help you arrange either of the payment methods mentioned above. In case you are using the FTS, you will need to transfer the living expenses contribution into your ANZ bank account.
We will notify you as soon as we know the outcome of your visa application and you can collect your passport. You can now start planning your travel and accommodation for New Zealand!
At CECA, our consultants help you organise your air tickets, insurance and foreign exchange to ensure a smooth study experience in NZ!
